The first baby has arrived. Little Jacque was hatched on July 7 at 5:45 pm. The bouncing baby lizard is 2 1/4" inches long and weighs 1 ounce. We don't know if it's a boy or a girl. The parents might be proud but they have been sold back to the petstore because of the amount of care they required. Grandpa Chris is up in Idaho and is missing this miraculous event. However, as great grand-parents, Steve and I are slightly proud of the first of the 21-tuplets on their way. Great Aunt Jessie served as a mid-wife in the delivery and fed the newborn two pinhead crickets which the infant devoured.

Jacques remaining 20 unhatched siblings are in no big hurry to follow his/her lead to cricket nirvana. Only two have shown additional activity - one with a tiny tail poking through and the other a little head just starting to emerge. Jacque emerged from the egg that is in the second row from the bottom, fourth egg from the left.

Disclaimer: All the cute phraseology contained herein is compliments of Great Aunt Jessie who is quite the clever wordsmith.

July 14 - Here are some new pictures of the little scaley family. Sadly there are 6 eggs that have not hatched. Jessie is still hoping that they will - Personally I think they are starting to smell bad. Sigh...
